Adjust to height

Is it possible to adjust the images to its height?
For example, I have wallpapers in ultrawide format and a 16:9 monitor (and sometimes two) that I would like to see cut out only on its sides.

The auto resize function of WallpaperSS compare image aspect ratio (width/height) to screen aspect ratio to decide whether crop/stretch image or add black bars
For example if a panoramic picture has width=9667, height=2978 its aspect ratio is 3.2, your monitor is 16/9=1.77
WallpaperSS calculates (3.2-1.7)*100=150, if this value is lower than the limit set in this window:



then image is resized/cropped.
The default value is quite low, (40 or 45) good for normal pictures, in your case you should set a much higher value for the example above you should set a value greater than 150, for example 160
To crop instead of stretch move the slider to the right.

Can I apply this same thing with some type of filter when I have images with a different aspect ratio inside a folder?

With current version it is not possible, there is only that global setting.

In that case it might be nice to have some options like "fit to height" or "width".

In version 5.1.0 there is a new option: "Auto Fit", with this option the program fits the image to screen using auto-resize settings regardless of the limit value. In other words it is the same as "Auto resize" but never displays black bars around images.

I tried the new function but I keep seeing black bars.
In other words I don't notice the difference with "auto resize".

Where did you set the "Auto Fit" option ?
Keep in mind that the position option can be set for each item in images list. If the items in the list doesn't have "use default setting" option set then changing the default has no effect.
You can either set "use default setting" and change default or set each item in the list as "auto fit". In both cases the little icon on the left must be "AF" not A.

2 monitors 1920x1080 (%125 scale)
"use default settings" not set.
"auto fit" set.
"use this image for the whole desktop " set.
"background color" set to black.

(please do not consider the folder name)

From your screen shot "auto fit" was not used.
After changing the options in Settings window did you click on Apply before setting a wallpaper ?
Or alternatively close with OK then change wallpaper, also make sure there are at least two images enabled in the list.
