Hello:

I've enabled the Weather Plugin, but it will not search for a location ID for any city and when I
click on "Preview," with the default ID entered, it displays the error seen in the attached image.

Can it be made to work?

at the beginning of the year Yahoo changed their Weather API, v1.2 of the plugin uses the old one, you should download and install version 1.3 of the Weather Plugin
It uses the new API and should work. Unfortunately the new API doesn't have a woeid Find function, you can enter the old woeid or your location name as "City, Country Code" for example "Paris,FR" (without quotes!!). Only way to find woeid is to use Yahoo weather web site anyway location name should work.
