Transparent Background come out Black?

Currently when a Transparent image comes up in the slideshow the background defaults to black, no matter what you choose the backgrounds to be. Is there anyway to make it so that the background matches what is set for transparent images instead of them coming out pure black?

Why would you want a transparent background? If it's to see the desktop content, this wouldn't be possible for security reasons.

I wasn't requesting to have the background to be transparent, sorry if I worded it poorly. I've been having an issue with have the slideshow treats images with transparent backgrounds. But I believe I've figured out the issue.
I tend to set the Background to Auto-Color: Image Average Color
When you do that, if the images has a transparent background it won't use that color. Instead the color comes up Black. Is there anyway to make it so that the transparent background of the image matches the Average Color?
To help explain, I've included images. The image of the car you can see has a transparent background. But in the screenshot, where the background should be the Average Color, there is instead of Black Square surrounding the car.

Now I understand the problem.
Currently, gPhotoShow doesn't handle transparency correctly. There are a couple of points in the image transformation path that ignore transparency, essentially for speed reasons.
The background color calculation also ignores transparency, so the dominant color, for example, might be incorrect.
I've filed this feature request for the next major release.
