Is there a particular reason why only one monitor can be excluded from a slideshow? Could the UI and code be updated to display check boxes next to each monitor, allowing a user to either check the ones to display the slideshow on, or check the ones to exclude? My setup has a total of 5 monitors, but I really need GPS to run on only 3 of them. Yes, I suppose I can create separate slideshows and modify the registry to allow more than one instance of GPS then run them from a batch job, but then I lose some of the timing across the monitors. It'd be much nicer to handle this in the UI instead.

You can use a custom layout.
In multiple monitors page choose "Custom layout", then click on Layout button, a dialog will open, there is a list with all your monitors. Just remove the ones where you don't wish to display the slideshow. To restore the initial list just click on Reset.

I checked that already, and it displays settings for only 4 monitors, not 5. Since I can't confirm the numbering of those 4 match the 5 that I see when I click "Monitor ID", I'm not going to try messing with those settings. Check boxes would make this process much easier.

You can easily exclude unwanted monitors with the custom layout window, click on Reset to get current monitor setup. Now you should have all 5 monitors, just delete the one you don't wish to use.
Don't care about the index, you can identify monitors by checking the position: 0,0 is the primary. Negative left pos is on the left, positive is on the right.

Okay, that technically worked, but with that change I lost being able to restore the taskbar when the slideshow is running. When I switch back to using "All monitors except number:" I get that functionality back.

BTW, I should have noted earlier that it was difficult to identify my monitors in the custom layout section because in reality, 2 of them are displayed on a TV connected to a 9 port HDMI multi-viewer. But based on your position comment, I was able to assume they were the last 2 listed.

I keep my taskbar hidden and hover over it when I need to see it. IIRC, previous versions of GPS had issues with that and would block the taskbar from being visible. I believe that was resolved in GPS V10, which I am using and it works great (just not when I tried switching to custom layout).

The problem with the hidden taskbar was due to the taskbar itself. When it sees gPhotoShow windows taking up the entire monitor, it correctly assumes it's a full-screen program and therefore no longer supports autohide.
The solution in gPhotoShow is to create a window one pixel smaller.
You can do the same in the custom layout; instead of a height of 1080, set it to 1079 and it will work.

You're right, I forgot about the option to change the height. I had tried it earlier this year after you first suggested it, but I didn't like having the extra spacing at the bottom of monitors that don't have a taskbar. But now it's dawned on me that I only have to set the primary monitor at 1079, so things are working just how I'd like them. Thank you for the help!
