Hello,
I am not sure I understood your question, what is in use ? Image files ? The directory where images are stored ?
In any case gPhotoShow opens files when it loads something then files are closed, they normally stay open just the time needed to read and decode the image.

Re: Can DO? or Feature Request
gPhotoShow has a system for extracting substrings from metadata, however it is quite limited and is the same for all images. For example: [File.Name,,8] displays the first 8 characters from file name. Unfortunately there is no way to remove the last x characters or just remove any digit. For this ne...

Re: Can DO? or Feature Request
Hello,
Unfortunately what you ask is not feasible. gPhotoShow has a single description that applies to all images
Because of the way the program is designed, it is also difficult to implement something like this

Re: VLC Random Back
Unfortunately no, there is no way. gPhotoShow doesn't record the position inside the video. Every time it plays a video it calculates a new position.

Re: Randomizer bias
The randomization function has no issue but it's all about probability. It's like rolling a dice, if you consider a long enough sequence of rolls each number has the same probability but nothing excludes that the 6 could come out 3 times in a row

Re: Auto rotate of photos?
gPhotoShow Free is now able to automatically rotate images provided the Exif rotation tag is correct. The problem is when you manually edit and rotate photos with a program that doesn't reset the exif rotation tag, in this case gPhotoShow will rotate it again and the result is a wrong orientation. U...

Re: Stopped working
Then it's a windows issue. If you start the screen saver from ControlSS it's same action as waiting for idle. It doesn't start the program directly, it asks windows to start the configured screen saver. Try to change screen saver. Wait for it to start, then go back to gPhotoShow. Usually this fixes ...

Re: Stopped working
Did you notice the log date ? "28-8-2021 5:7:41" those errors are very old Anyway about your issue, there are a lot of possible causes. First of all no screen saver starts by itself, it is always started by windows when the system is idle. So if the screen saver doesn't start you should ch...
